My old standard PS4 would only hook the 2.4ghz side of my router over wifi, and when I gave it away to my daughter she hard wired it to her router. I am sure they changed the wifi module in the PS4 pro, along with adding a SATA 3 connector to the Hard Drive.

May 17, 2010 · I second this option, but make sure you're getting one that has the Ethernet port and isn't just a wifi signal amplifier. The wifi chip in the PS4 is kind of crappy, and you'll get better connection using an ethernet cable with an extender vs trying to boost the wifi signal to other rooms just for the PS4.
