After set up, the router itself receives a single public internet protocol (IP) address on the web. Servers on the backend of the internet communicate with your wireless router, and the router routes that information traffic to the appropriate devices on your home network. Check your Internet connection. If you don't have a good internet connection, the router setup experience will be frustrating. The simplest method is to connect a computer to the modem or gateway device supplied by your Internet service provider (ISP).
